Little Mr. Wiggles, the chihuahua pup stolen from the SB County Animal Shelter on Overpass Rd, needs your help.
The staff and volunteers at the shelter care for all the dogs there and work hard to provide a safe place for them all. We're all there to help families re-unite with their lost dogs, or make a new match between one of our dogs and a new family. Mr. Wiggles was there to be adopted. He was so small and young, a volunteer was fostering him at night, and taking him to the shelter to be seen each day. He has been neutered, but does not have all his shots, and has some behavior issues that we were working on.
Part of what is done for an adoption is a very careful interview, meet, and paperwork process. We try to help match a person or family with a dog that will fit together well - considering what would be good for both the people and the dog. Some dogs, like Mr. Wiggles, have specific needs to be met. A person or persons who would steal a dog rather than go through a process to make sure the dog was really right for them and they were right for the dog is not likely to take the steps necessary to keep the dog safe forever. These are not the right people to have Wiggles.
He's pretty distinctive - those huge ears and very very light eyes. If you see Mr. Wiggles, please call the Animal Shelter at 681-5285. In fact, put that number into your phone now - you might need it sometime. And if you are the lowlifes who stole him, he'll need a rabies shot in a month, and he'll need to see a vet. He also loves to play fetch with a tennis ball (although the ball is a big as his head) and he wants to sleep under the blankets with you, just like he did at his foster mom's home. And if you have Mr. Wiggles, and are regretting your actions, let me know and we can work out a way for you to return him safely. We just want what will be best for him, and you really can't provide that..
